Carrier

2026 · A product of The Memetic Company

A model of how a sentence moves through a room. The sample is the instrument. The full site is the study around it.

Problem

Most accounts of virality begin once the numbers are already large. Carrier begins earlier: one sentence, a room of strangers, and a rule for how it is passed.

Method

Each carrier tells a fixed number of people. Each of those tells the same number, until the chain fills the room or you stop it. There is no feed and no audience graph. Everyone who hears it carries it — a clean look at branching, before probability is added on the lab bench.

Finding

A sentence does not travel because it is loud. It travels when the branching factor stays above one for more than a single generation. Growth is a property you can watch, not a mood you declare.

The instrument

Release a sentence into a room.
